FERGUS POLGLASE
Fergus Polglase (b.1997, lives and works in London, UK) is a painter brought up between Nottingham and Cornwall. His canvases, which are highly expressive and often monumental in scale, are borne from an intuitive process which incorporates drawings en plein air, folklore and poetry. As transcendent as they are personal, Polglase's practice embodies the tentacular nature of the subconscious; incorporating the exterior and experiential as much as the inner self.
Polglase graduated from Central Saint Martins with a BA Fine Art in 2019, after studying at the University of Falmouth. Selected recent exhibitions include: All this wrath, Blue Shop Gallery, London, UK (2024), My soul hurts and I think I have tinnitus, Calcio, London, UK (2024), In Pursuit of Play, Whitstable Arts Centre, UK (2022), and Late works 4, Gallery 46, Whitechapel, UK (2021).
