‘MEET ME ON THE FIRST FLOOR’

Artground’s first exhibition Meet me on the first floor… opened on 30th November 2023 and closed on Sunday 3rd December.

Meet Me on the First Floor is a multi-disciplinary exhibition, bringing together eight emerging artists and eight different ways of seeing, translating and communicating the world in art. Wink King Moe, Nathalie Hollis, Meryl Yana, Helena Lacy, Gerry De Banzie, Melanie Issaka, Lucie Gray, and Barnaby Lewis will show their respective paintings, drawings, ceramics, sculptures, and photography, coming together in an easy, stirring, dynamic companionship curated by Artground founder Betty Sims-Hilditch.

In Meet Me on the First Floor, each artist’s work is an expression of deep self-discovery, reflection, grounding, and empowerment. Each work offers a distinctive, edifying communion, and with it a unique way of meeting the artist in their work. Meet Me on the First Floor displays the infrangible tie in art between heart and hand, of creation and experience, of living and making, of movement and stillness.

The artwork is displayed by Sims-Hilditch in a bare yet theatrical space, chosen for its exposure of the architectural interior and its invitation to communal gathering and elevated observation.
