MADDALENA ZADRA
Maddalena Zadra (b. 1996, Trento, Italy) works primarily using textiles, albeit with a painterly technique. The result is a kind of poetry, including recognisable symbols and motifs arranged in an abstract, associative manner. For Zadra, making and craft, as meditative, intimate processes, are as significant as the artwork in its finality; as her practice transcends the clear boundaries of medium, her subjects are equally ambiguous, and therefore particular to each person who encounters them.
Zadra graduated from the University of Brighton in 2018 with a BA in Fine Art Painting. Selected recent exhibitions include: Vittoria Settant arte 70, Palazzo Trentino, TN, Italy (2024), Hands, 8 Holland Street, London, UK (2024), Felt Cute, Might Delete Later, Arusha Gallery, London, UK (2023) and Studiolo at Rue Du Dragon,Paris (2023).
