FIONA BERRY
Fiona Berry (b.1996, London, UK) works across disciplines, using an intuitive process which excavates dreams, folklore, geometry, and personal narratives. Though her mark-making is a highly original practice, her references span art history to theatre; she creates complex, poetic compositions which prioritise the evocation of feeling rather than the communication of narrative. In contrast, Berry’s sculptural practice, in the same way it ‘solidifies’ her imagery, is more clearly symbolic; her carved objects often act as amulets.
Berry graduated from the Royal Drawing School’s Drawing Year in 2019, after studying Intermedia Art as Edinburgh College of Art. Selected recent exhibitions include: ABG Emerging, Alice Black Gallery, London, UK (2024), Pasts to Come, The Curiosity Cabinet, King's College London, UK (2024), Potato, OHSH Peckham, London, UK (2024), and Folding Thresholds, dARTS London, UK (2021).
